Electrical Inspection on Construction Sites

Overview and Safety

A construction site is considered a high-risk environment due to harsh conditions such as dust, moisture, and mechanical wear. To mitigate the danger of electrocution, the Electricity Law includes a dedicated chapter for temporary installations on construction sites.

Legal and Technical Requirements
Inspections: Electrical systems must undergo an initial inspection upon activation and a periodic inspection once a year by a Level 3 Certified Electrical Inspector using lab-calibrated equipment.

Earthing Method: The law mandates the use of the TT (Protective Earthing) method. Using the "Nulling" (TN-C-S) method is strictly prohibited and dangerous in a construction environment.

Equipment Standards: Electrical boards must comply with Israeli Standard 61439-4. They must feature industrial-grade sockets (Ceeform) and use heavy-duty cables (e.g., HO7RNF). Residual Current Devices (RCDs/GFCI) are mandatory on all board outlets.

Risks of Negligence
In many cases, temporary electricity on sites becomes a "death trap" due to non-standard extension cords, broken sockets, or water leakage into electrical panels. Failure to comply with safety standards not only endangers lives but also leads to site shutdowns, equipment damage, and significant financial loss.

The Inspection Process
The inspection begins at the main distribution board using advanced technological equipment. Upon completion, a computerized report is generated. This report details the findings and recommendations and serves as a legal document for the Ministry of Labor.
